Meet and Greet with tree planting instruction to be held on 5th Ave. Meet on 5th Ave/Parking lot of 504 East River Rd.
A safety vest will be provided for use for the day. Please return it before you leave.
Holes will be pre-dug. There will be a tree (20-gal pot) placed at each hole location. Volunteers will need to remove the tree from the bucket, place in hole and back fill the hole.
Volunteers will be placed in small groups - each group will be expected to plant 4-6 trees in 3 hours.
- Volunteers under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Dress for the weather
- Wear long sleeves, pants and closed toed shoes (no sandals or flip flops)
- Work gloves or garden gloves recommended
- Each volunteer is asked to please bring a spade shovel to use, it should be clearly marked with your name or way to identify it is your shovel. The city will have some shovels available but will not have enough to provide one to all of the volunteers.
