The storm water system is made up of its storm sewers and related water quality and holding ponds that help control the quantity and quality of rain and snow melt entering our area rivers and ponds. This is important for all water bodies, but it is especially important because Anoka recognizes that two of its greatest natural resources are the Rum and Mississippi Rivers.
The purpose of this page is to provide information about how storm water is handled within Anoka, to provide links to other websites with a water quality theme, and, hopefully, to provide some helpful tips for you to contribute to improving water quality here in town.
The Storm Water Utility
In March of 2003 Anoka created its Storm Water Utility in order to fund the on going maintenance and reconstruction of the City’s Storm Drainage System.
