Safe Exchange Zone

The Anoka Police Department would like to announce the addition of a Safe Exchange Zone in the City of Anoka, and encourage exchanges to take place in these designated spaces.

Anoka Police have created this Safe Exchange Zone to combat the increase of robberies and scams stemming from online purchase exchanges. These designated areas serve as a safe place for residents and visitors to exchange and complete transactions of online purchases.

Anoka Police strongly encourages the public to make use of the exchange zones, and be especially wary of meeting people who refuse to meet at a Safe Exchange Zone location. This space is under surveillance 24 hours a day. Look for the blue Safe Exchange Zone signs.

The Safe Exchange Zone designated locations are:

Directly in front of the Anoka Police Department – 275 Harrison Street, Anoka, MN.
Directly across the street from the Anoka Police Department.

Anoka Police would also like to remind the public of these safety tips when selling or purchasing items from strangers:

·         Never meet anyone alone
·         Never list your home address, phone number, or any other identifiable information
·         Never meet at night
